The whole procedure of getting fat injections is generally quick and painless. The area from which the fat is extracted is anesthetized before the extraction. You will need to return to the dermatologist again later to make sure the fat has filled in evenly.

You might expect that since it is a surgical procedure, the results would be permanent. In reality, the fat injections dissipate into surrounding tissue within 3 to 6 months. The good news is that after you've had the procedure a few times, the results may start to last longer.

The key to getting good facial enhancement results through fat injections is choosing a dermatologist who is very good at fat injections. The better the job the dermatologist does of spreading the fat evenly, the better your results will look. Make sure you get recommendations from a trusted friend who has had fat injections or from a trusted doctor before you choose a dermatologist to do your fat injections.
